WWDC 2013 Unpredictions

My prediction for tomorrow. Forget flat versus skeuomorphic. Forget Ive versus Forstall.
What I hope to see is design that’s more than how it looks.

VSCO Cam

My friends at VSCO have released a major update to their Camera app for iOS. Beautifully designed, great filters, sharing features and your very own photoblog site to showcase your best shots.
Users of the original Cam get a extra bonus: the original 10 filters.

Pacific Helm

Pacific Helm released a new camera app, Camera Noir, early last week which is nicely designed (though, I prefer VSCO Cam).
The cool part is the website. The video effect on the site they’re using is really nice.
(most likely designed by Louis Mantia the designer behind your favorite/least favorite iOS app icons, among other things)

A great series of posts by Ben Thompson on his blog, Stratechery, about the current state of TV, its future and what Apple might do. It’s not as exciting as what some rumor mongers might imagine, but it is carefully considered and, best of all, subversive.
